Initial Account & Microsoft Authenticator Setup
Datum Software requires multi-factor authentication for all Microsoft-based authentication. Authentication is only available using Microsoft Authenticator. If you switch phones, please setup Microsoft Authenticator on your new device before factory resetting your old device.
Prerequisites
- Google Android or Apple iOS smartphone or Tablet with the Microsoft Authenticator app
- Microsoft Authenticator from Google Play linked here
- Microsoft Authenticator from Apple App Store linked here
PLEASE DO NOT Log into your Datum account from Microsoft Authenticator.
Initially Accessing the Account
- Log into https://outlook.office365.com using your Datum credentials (DO NOT search for this address, use the link).

- Follow the prompts to provide additional information.

- Choose if you want to use verification codes or receive notifications in your Microsoft Authenticator. Note: the receive notifications option is more secure and convenient. Last, click Setup.

- Drop to the section called Configuring Microsoft Authenticator.
Reconfiguring Microsoft Authenticator

If you already have access to your account and you need to reconfigure Microsoft Authenticator, please access this link.
- Choose + Add Method.

- Choose Authenticator App from the drop down menu then hit Add. Then hit Next on the next two popups.

- Continue to the next section, the screens may vary slightly.
Configuring Microsoft Authenticator
- Open the app and accept any privacy or other popups that show up. Choose Scan a QR code. DO NOT choose Sign in with Microsoft or Add work or school account.
- If you are prompted with a message asking if you grant Authenticator access to the camera, choose OK. At the next screen scan the QR code from the your Microsoft account then hit Next, and Next again at the screen.


- The next screen will ask to verify the mobile app works from your mobile, go to your mobile and choose Approve. You will be prompted to provide your screen lock information again (fingerprint reader, Face ID, or pin) before it proceeds, last hit Next.

Final Initial Account Setup Steps
- You will be prompted to reset your password, provide a new password and then hit Sign in.

- You will receive another prompt that asks to provide additional information, hit Next.
- You will be asked to provide answers to security questions and an authentication email, this email is only used to send codes for authentication in the event that you get locked out of your account. Once complete hit finish.

- Congratulations, your account is setup!
